Lorraine Kelly and Rob Beckett say I do to BBC One's Wedding Day Winners

Television legend Lorraine Kelly and award winning comedian Rob Beckett are set to preside over engaged couples nuptials for new series Wedding Day Winners, coming to BBC One in Spring 2018.

Each week two happy couples, poised to tie the knot, and their friends and family will go head to head in order to win fabulous prizes, a dream honeymoon, and most importantly the most extraordinary wedding ceremony ever which will be broadcast to the nation.

There are no losers in Wedding Day Winners. Each couple will come away with a host of prizes, happy memories and above all married to the love of their lives!

With the help of a celebrity guest list, it’s the job of Lorraine and Rob to oversee this confetti-filled contest. They’ll encourage the friends and families of each couple to compete in series of hilarious physical games, high adrenalin stunts, and challenges.

Lorraine Kelly said: “I am so excited about this show. There will be laughter and tears and lots of fun. Everyone loves a wedding and it will be wonderful to share such a life affirming event with our couples.  It's a show all the family can watch together and perfect for a Saturday night.”

Rob Beckett said: “When I was told that I'd be presenting Wedding Day Winners with the legend that is Lorraine Kelly, I was so excited, that in true wedding tradition I immediately put a tie around my head and started belting out Come On Eileen at the top of my voice. Unfortunately I was on the bus at the time.”

Kate Phillips, Controller, BBC Entertainment said: “BBC One cordially invites viewers to Wedding Day Winners, a unique show that tests couples, and their family and friends to see if they really would do anything for love.  After seeing Lorraine's impeccable comic timing and versatility on BBC Three hit Murder in Successville, we knew she'd make a fantastic master of ceremonies for this series. And with Rob as her best man, this promises to be an unforgettable day. For our couples, saying 'I do' will be the easy part!”

Moira Ross CCO of Panda TV said: “Wedding Day Winners is the love child of your favourite rom com and classic warm hearted game show.  We will be telling the love stories of ordinary people, and seeing how their nearest and dearest will stop at nothing to give them the wedding of their dreams.”
